Why is the acid or caustic dose 0 when a pH adjustment is made?
In order to accurately calculate the amount of acid or caustic needed for a pH adjustment, a feed stream must have bicarbonate and or carbonate in the feed. If the feed stream has 0 for both, then it cannot calculate the acid or caustic needed. Adding 10 ppm of bicarbonate will produce a more accurate brine pH and accurate acid or caustic dose.
